Ping.fm … A obsessive posters wet dream !!!

Ping.fm is a website which allows the user to post to multiple social sites at once. This is great for the serious Blogger, Tweeter or the Obsessive Status Updaters. I found Ping.fm while searching for new social tools, that was about 6 months ago, since then Ping.fm has grown in both size and stature now updating to over 50 social networks. There are official and unofficial web apps, iPhone apps, Blackberry Apps and Android apps all allowing you to use Ping.fm from virtual anywhere. Seesmic recently acquired Ping.fm and created a new desktop version and iPhone app allowing users to access the Ping.fm web app. Will Ping.fm last in the long run … that is the real question, there are other sites already mimicking Ping, but none of them have come even close to the ease of use or accessibility of Ping. I do foresee one problem for Ping.fm in the future though and that is iTunes new Ping Social Networking feature built into the new iTunes. Although likely unintentional, iTunes Ping may offer a slight blow to this fledgling website. I think Ping.fm will end up having to change its name or just merge with Seesmic in order to not get confused with iTunes who has more advertising power and the ability to get better search placement than Ping. Besides them needing a change of name Ping.fm is offering a great service especially for those serious posters. I find myself posting through Ping.fm ten to twenty times per week if not more. As I take a more and more professional approach to my blogging and status updates I feel I will be using Ping.fm more and more often as it makes posting simple. You no longer have to log into multiple sites and jump through hoops to access & update your status, now even the laziest of people can become bloggers and posters with the minimal of work. Ping even allows you to register your cell phone so you can text a message right from your phone and the site will automatically update ALL of your social sites. The best part of Ping.fm is that the site is 100% Free.
